Applesauce Brown Rice

This is a unique & very complimentary side dish that I found at Kraftfoods.com...we usually team it up with Glorified Pork Chops. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup applesauce
1 cup water
1/4 tsp salt
1 small apple, chopped
1 tsp margarine
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 cups brown rice, uncooked

Bring to boil applesauce, water, margarine, cinnamon and salt. Stir in rice; return to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 5 minutes. Remove and let stand 5 minutes. Stir in apple & serve.

Glorified Pork Chops

These chops have been a family-favorite of ours for about 7 years now...they're just absolutely delicious! I usually serve them up with a side of Applesauce Brown Rice and fresh cucumbers & onions tossed in Italian dressing. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:
1 TB vegetable oil
6 pork chops, 1/2" thick
1/2 cup water
1 medium onion, sliced
1 can Cream of Celery soup

Heat oil in skillet, add chops & cook until browned. Add onion & cook until tender. Stir in soup & water; heat to a boil. Cover & cook over low heat 10 minutes or until done.
